New Features Coming Soon

Greetings fellow pankakerz. This post is meant to inform you about what you can expect from the next update to The Battle Of Idumea. It will contain a list of what has already been done, what I'm working on now, and plans for features I would like to add.

What have you completed?

Today, I completely reworked the entire music system. Now, you can play songs in the sequential order that I put them in in the editor, which will be done in order by track and album number. Here's a hint, if you want to buy my music you don't have to because I plan to put the whole collection in the game as time goes on. Alternate versions too. Bye money.

With that being said, I added a song I worked on and  got everything but the vocals done in two days. It's called "City Of Heaven." You can see the song names in the pause menu. From there you can also see the progress of the song and play the last track, next track, stop the music (sorry, I couldn't figure out how to get pausing to work ;;-;;), play it from the beginning, and mute the audio. I like the way it looks a lot.

What are you working on right now?

After completing some of The Grand Finale part 2 on Saints Row 4 (Copyright by THQ or Deep Silver, pls dont sue. that goes for you too, reader because im playing an ungodly game), I thought to myself, "Maybe I should make it to where you can switch between day and night mode in my game." Then I completed The Grand Finale and saw that they had the same idea.

The way it works in The Battle Of Idumea is bed rolls. They will appear by camp fires after you light them. If you press E to interact, they will skip the time. Right now it's a little wonky and doesn't exactly work by simply skipping straight from day to night. I think I just need to add 180 to the current rotation. There's also no moon, so I will need to figure that out too.

I'm also trying to make it to where you unlock more things when you take over camp sites. Right now a table in camp site 3 gets enabled when you take the campsite over.

What do you plan to add next?

I honestly am not sure. I have a whole list of things, but I don't know where to start. Definitely more music and weapons. I also want to fix the options menu and explore mode when the player wins, but I don't know what's causing the issues with those.

Tanks, achievements, voices for the robots, saving and loading progress, a title video after you leave the game alone for thirty seconds, a navy to help you defeat some of the enemies, and a nuke terminal are all on the list for sure.

Two things I definitely want to add are controller and touch screen support. That means that you would be able to play it on your console or phone. The issue is that I don't know how to add controller support with the default input system and I can't find any tutorials online about how to do it. For some reason I can't just plug in my controller and it work. It would be nice, but it doesn't do that.

I think adding support for phones will be a little easier, but the issue is the amount of controls. If you connect a keyboard and mouse it might work fine though. The game just has too many controls for me to add full support for mobile devices. I think I could make it work though.

How long do you plan to support the game?

I think I will stop adding features by the end of summer or fall, and I want to build an entire game, music, and arts company. That means that I have to focus on more than one game. This one is also just supposed to be an introduction to the series. That's why it doesn't have all the features of the full Galiwayan Fighterz game. That had space ships and you could do all kinds of crazy stuff. That will probably be what comes next. Or I may just go back to open world RPGs. I definitely want to make a few of those. They're pretty fun. I think the one I really want to make sounds pretty fun. That's one reason why I want to make it.

I will hopefully be back with progress on the game next week. I might even finish the bed rolls and update the game. That or I will wait and just make a really big update. I hope you have a blessed night and enjoy your Pankakez!
